Wine on the Porch - Magpie #61

The thing I missed the most when I was alone -- a glass of wine on the porch, quiet conversation. I've learned to do without the after dinner cigarette. Maybe the wine could be a cup of coffee or a glass of tea. But I need the companianship. . . After thinking about it, maybe any two out of three would suffice.

  1. Does that need a question mark at the end of your first sentence? Otherwise , we are still waiting for you to tell us what you missed most. I know it becomes obvious later in the piece, but the beginning as it stands feels incomplete. I like the way you leave us pondering...

  2. Jinksy, thank you for the input. I added a dash instead of a period. Writing in sentence fragments is a bad habit. It's the way I think inside my head.

  3. A lovely wistful piece, company probably is the number one choice for me, too.

  4. I enjoyed this quiet and thoughtful piece. I agree, I could leave the cigarette, but you can't beat good company and a glass of red wine :)

  12. Solid, relatable snippet. Minor nit: might want to change "companianship" to "companionship".
